model-driven development workbench

From strategy to code,
in a single model.

Fold vision, process, domain, state, and verification into one model — editable as text and as diagrams. Change one surface, and the other reflects it.

The problem we're solving

There's always a gap between strategy and specs on one side, and a working system on the other.

Strategy–implementation gap

Executive intent never connects to design and code in a way you can trace.

Models go stale

Diagrams drift from the implementation, and eventually no one reads them.

Notation lock-in

Bound to a vendor's proprietary notation; the assets can't be taken out.

Limits of one-shot AI

Plausible artifacts appear, but no rationale or traceable line is left behind.

02

The core idea: one source of truth, two editing surfaces

The model has a single body (the SSoT). Engineers edit it as text, stakeholders edit it as diagrams — the same model. Save, and it reflects both ways.

text · Langium

Edit as text

Text editing with IDE support — completion, validation, reference resolution. For engineers.

graphical · Sirius-web

Edit as diagrams

Author with nodes, edges, and palettes. For stakeholders and review.

03

Five concerns, in the vocabulary of established standards

Not a proprietary notation — connected to industry-standard thinking. Use only the concerns your input supports.

Strategy

Vision, goal, capability, role (behavior).

BMM · RM-ODP · Capella OA · VDML

Domain

Concepts, attributes, references, enums.

class model

Process

Activities, lanes (roles), control flow.

activity

State

Lifecycle states and transitions.

state machine

Verification (V&V)

Requirements and verification — test, analysis, inspection.

04

Full-span traceability

This is the differentiator. Trace a single line of strategy all the way to the generated code and tests — the line a one-shot AI never leaves behind.

05

AI-assisted upstream, deterministic governance downstream

AI helps where emergence is needed; auditable tools handle where precision is needed. The roles are kept separate.

upstream · AI-assisted

Spec → model

  • Extract a model from mid-term plans, business specs, and scenarios
  • Sharpen the vision with value analysis (VDML)
  • Every extraction ties back to its source (_source)
downstream · deterministic

Model → generation, governance

  • Deterministic projection to grammar, diagrams, and downstream artifacts
  • Schema validation and reference integrity gated automatically
  • Governance framed by AI autonomy × impact (LRF)

Where things stand (honestly)

An end-to-end proven prototype. The core works; hardening and productization are ahead.

Proven
  • Bidirectional text↔graphical round-trip, verified live for strategy, domain, and mission
  • A single chain demonstrated from strategy through code, tests, and traceability
  • Round-trip soundness verified, including rename resilience and loss measurement
  • Standards-based vocabulary with schema validation
who it's for

For teams who want strategy and implementation on one traceable line

Organizations that don't want modeling divorced from design and implementation, and that want to keep the rationale behind their decisions. Teams that want their own domain language on top of standard thinking — without notation lock-in.
